Default Update

Wow, where to begin. Hard lessons were learned. Ended up closing our doors after 90 days. Pizza was good, atmosphere was good, beginning to build up loyal customers, everything was going good.

Then, wham! Plumbing issues. Only one bathroom would work at a time. Health Inspector says we need two working restrooms. Plumber's diagnosis says it is not our plumbing, but the main line to the shopping center that needs to be cleaned out. The owner of the shopping center lives in South Africa and refused to pay for the main line to be cleaned (we are talking thousands of dollars or we would have done it).

Roof issues. The roof needed to be replaced before winter but it was even leaking from AC condensation.

Electrical issues. The previous occupant did some shady stuff that we had cleaned up. But there was an electrical box INSIDE the wall that we never knew about and it caught fire.

My business partner was nickle and diming us to death by buying food products to try new recipes. Normally this would be OK, but we needed to establish ourselves first before we rolled out new stuff. After we closed up shop, I tallied up the receipts - almost $2000 worth of receipts for different food and alcohol products.

So I packed up everything and put it in storage. Not too much in debt but definitely gun shy about working with my business partner again.

Still want another pizza parlor but will wait until I don't need a partner. Time to pull myself up by the bootstraps. Just got done reading 48 Days by Dan Miller for the umpteenth time... New idea in the works, will post a new thread.

Hope that helps a little. Best of luck.

Default quality is what makes it happen

If the pizza is quality you have nothing to worry about. People what quallity in food. If it has that you need very little of any else.

I love Pizza. We have several pizza places popping up around my small town. I was talking to a past owner of a Pizza Hut. The profit margin was astounding! Best of luck and let us know how it goes.
